According to official rules, invitation is required for all kind of entry visas to Libya, and a person can obtain Libyan entry visa by one of the following ways:
- The Libya tourist visa is valid for 30 days beginning from the day of issue, and it will allow you (as a tourist) to stay for one month. But if you wish to stay for longer, then it can be renewed.
- Libya business visa is valid either for six, three or one months.
Two - Three days
There are two types of business visas: Multiple Visa and Mission Visa:
Multiple Visa: this visa lasts for three months (3 months) after date of issue and allows the holder to enter and exit Libya as many times as desired within a period of three months. However, please make sure that you only apply for this kind of visa if you really do have a business to establish, as failure to establish a business or sign a contract with a Libyan company during your first business-visa can prevent you from obtaining another business visa in the future. If you are just going to enquire and gather information about a business idea, then we recommend initially you apply for either a visit or a tourist visa. We are authorised to receive foreign investors into Libya and you are more than welcome to visit us at any time.
Mission Visa: mission visa is issued to people who are going to Libya for a mission, and in a sense is very similar to business visa, except that it is used only for a single visit within 30 days of issue. We need at least one week notice before the date of arrival to secure a business visa.
The easy way to obtain the Libyan visa: you do not have to have or see the "visa invitation letter" at all. All you have to do is send us a copy of your original and the translated bio-page of your passport at least one week before arrival. And that is it. Nothing else is required from you. We will use the received documents to apply for a "Libyan Visa Approval", which we will use to obtain the Libyan Entry Visa for you on the day of your arrival. Most of our visitors opt for this option.
